Thoughts on ALD&PES:

Through ALD & PES, I had the opportunity to participate in Reading to Kids. Besides reading to kindergarteners, I also drew pictures and played games with them. At the end of the event, when the principal asked the kids if they had fun, all of the kids including the shy kid shouted out yes. From this event, I learned that reading to kids at an early age is important for their learning and language development. I really enjoyed reading to the kids and they reminded me a lot about myself.

Jasmine came to Reading to Kids and got placed with a student who didn't speak any English. She couldn't speak Spanish. But instead of getting frustrated, she was very calm and helpful. We really appreciated her cool head in an uncomfortable situation, which is why we have singled her out for the honor of Member of the Month.
